This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water for KS1. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint and pencil, using shapes, patterns and lines and experimenting with different materials.
There are 3 different artists used as inspiration, all of whom have painted the sea or water using very different techniques. The children have the opportunity to work alone for 4 lessons and part of a collaborative group project for the final lesson. They have lots of opportunity to choose what materials they work with.
The 15 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my classes. I have included the simple 7 slide PowerPoint I used for the series of lessons, which contains examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based.

This resource is a non-fiction comprehension activity for year 2. It is all about castles!
The booklet is based on the KS1 SATs reading paper and includes 3 differentiated levels. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘how,’ ‘who’ and ‘why’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 3-4 questions per page. Answers are also included.
All of the PDF booklets are in the zip file. There is a colour and black & white version for each level.
This resource is a set of 5 painting lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water, suitable for Lower Key Stage 2. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades and using shapes and patterns to change the atmosphere of a painting.
There are 4 different artists used as inspiration. The children have the opportunity to work alone to practise the key skills and as part of a large group for a collaborative project. The final lesson allows children to collate all their experience and ideas to create an original seascape on their own.
The 13 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out the cupboards. This is a set of three lesson plans and resources to teach children about the Jewish holiday of Passover. It is suitable for ages 7 - 11. There is also a 41 slide PowerPoint presentation to accompany the lessons which includes a topic introduction, the Passover story and details of how Jewish people celebrate Passover today.
Lesson 1 teaches children about the story of Passover and includes a drama activity and a literacy task.

A 30 page pack of fun Christmas themed activities aimed at 5-7 year olds.
There are a mixture of numeracy, literacy, phonics and art activities perfect for the end of term. Examples include counting carol singers, writing acrostic poems and completing sequences among many others. Children can work independently on activities during this busy part of the year or they could be used as part of a whole lesson. A colour and black and white version of the 30 page booklet is included.
A great way to keep learning going right up to the end of term. I used this booklet with my year 1 class last year and they really enjoyed it!

This is a plan and resources for a French lesson to use with KS2. It involves children learning about French Festivals. The lesson teaches the class about six festivals e.g. Bastille Day. There is the French word for each festival, a little bit of information in English and two more French phrases linked to the festival. The plan could be used for an individual lesson, or as part of a longer unit on France.
The plan gives details of a starter, how to teach the vocabulary, a reading activity, a drawing task, a speaking activity and plenary whole class game. It is highly interactive and allows children to practise a range of language skills.

These are followed by one question on each of the books in the CBCA 2024 short list for ages 7-12.

The story is a romance and comedy and covers the themes of love, mistaken identities and magic. The story has been adapted so that is is suitable for ages 7-9.
There are three differentiated booklets. The higher booklet has three pages of text for the children to read before they complete a range of questions based on a mixture of the KS1 and KS2 SATs.
The middle and lower ability booklets have the text split into separate pages with questions on each page.

This is a plan for an assembly on Advent, with a focus on preparing for Christmas. There is an optional simple PowerPoint on Advent traditions included. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So this assembly involves using an anecdote about a December when you prepared for Christmas in all the wrong ways. You can use the example in the plan or use an anecdote from your own childhood.
